Em Ivers

is a designer creating human-centered
experiences for emerging tech.

Em helps bring to life compelling, human-centered experiences that merge digital and physical worlds.

Over the past 14 years, she’s worked to meaningfully shape emerging technologies at companies like Intel, Nike, and Adidas as an interaction designer specializing in spatial and ubiquitous computing and as a design lead guiding product and UX strategy. Using methodologies like design fiction and participatory design, she’s had the opportunity to experiment with a range of cutting-edge tech, including mixed reality and computer vision, releasing first-of-their-kind wearable and IoT products, and innovating complex enterprise workflows. The motivation behind everything is unrelenting curiosity and a sense of deep responsibility for ensuring that the new technologies we create will impact the world for the better.

Em currently designs conversational AI experiences (including some really weird bots) and the tools used to create them in FUSE Labs at Microsoft. You can occasionally find her talking or giving workshops about topics like UX for XR, innovation strategy, and design ethics. (Spoiler: we talk about design ethics in all of them.)
